Help Protect Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park

Help protect and preserve the 1,200 acres of Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park in West Baltimore, which constitute the largest woodland park in an East Coast city. The Park offers a rare opportunity for the public to explore a diverse natural environment characterized by stream valleys, ridge tops, and meadows; enjoy opportunities for active recreation; and experience historic structures from an earlier era. The park is designated as part of the Baltimore National Heritage Area and is managed and maintained by Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, with the support of volunteers of the Friends of Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park (FOGFLP).

This unique and irreplaceable treasure must be protected from both manmade and environmental threats in order to serve future generations of Baltimoreans. The former can be addressed by the creation of a Forest Conservation Easement, and the latter by maintaining the trails and signage, conserving the soil, and controlling alien invasive species.
